I know why Celie loved Shug

I am convinced that Shug  felt the same

Why else would she take Celie to allow her to feel the


She took her uptown

On her first train ride

Saved Mister from death


just to see that girl shine

Yea, it was love

But what else could she give?

When all of the men that she knew

Had stolen her most sacred gifts

Her pride




and Name

Even her dear sweet sister sista

leaving her with nothing

but shame



Wrapped in nothingness

Then she came

With her beautifully mean self

She came

Making her cum

Singing her name

Bringing feeling to what was numb

She came

Stealing Celie away from the torture and pain

Liberating her self from the prison of being

so vain

Both understood

That men were considered kings

But nothing was flaw
